INFORMATION TO THE APPLICANTS
Andhra Pradesh State Remote Sensing Applications Centre (APSRAC) - Andhra Pradesh State Remote Sensing Applications Centre (APSRAC) is an autonomous society of the Government of Andhra Pradesh registered under A.P. Societies Registration Act, 2001. The Principal Secretary, Planning Department, Government of Andhra Pradesh is the Chairman of the Society. APSRAC is the nodal agency for applications of remote sensing and GIS technology for natural resources inventory and management in the State of Andhra Pradesh. It is well equipped with the latest hardware and software required for RS and GIS applications in different disciplines. It usually uses the ERDAS platform for RS and ArcGIS platform for GIS. APSRAC is implementing various projects sponsored by the Central and State government. A typical APSRAC team for a project is given in the organogram below.
APSRAC desires to hire on contract basis the following professionals for its various projects. The present positions are purely temporary in nature for a maximum period mentioned against each. They do not create any lien. A brief description of each project and the Terms of Reference (ToR), minimum qualification and minimum experience required for the various positions is listed below. The Director Administration, APSRAC may delete or add to the number of positions announced here any time in the future.
1) Soil Health Information and Nutrient Management System (G-Soil) (Agriculture Department)
G-Soil project is sponsored by the Department of Agriculture, GoAP under RKVY to be executed in two years period (2011-12 and 2012-2013). The main tasks to be taken up in the project include development of a Soil Health Database with 45 lakh soil test records, generation of Soil Resource Maps for 7 districts of A. P. (Chittoor, Prakasam, West Godavari, East Godavari, Krishna, Nellore and Kadapa) at 1:50,000 scale and development of Soil Health Portal (Web GIS) with Management Information System (MIS), which supports various Decision Support Systems (DSS). like facility to incorporate new soil test data by STLs, RSTLs and MSTLs, nutrient recommendations, automatic generation of Soil Health Card in hard copy through SMS, identification of gap areas and prioritization for future soil analysis sampling, identification of critical areas of nutrients and their management, identification and characterization of different land degradation / soil threat areas and their management, identification of libraries / bench mark sites at state level for monitoring of soil health, generation of different out puts (spatial / analog) in the form of tables, maps etc. for different purposes.
The following professionals are required on contract basis for the project for duration of 12 months extendable upto six months, if needed. The Terms of Reference (ToR), minimum qualification and minimum experience required for the various positions are listed below.
