1. National Eligibility Test (NET)-2012 Junior Research Fellowship/Eligibility for Lectureships
The University Grants Commission announces holding of the National Eligibility Test (NET) on 24th June, 2012, Sunday for determining the eligibility of Indian nationals for the Award of Junior Research Fellowship (JRF) and Eligibility for Lectureship in Indian Universities and Colleges. UGC will conduct NET in 78 subjects at 74 (seventy four) selected university centres spread across the country. The result of the UGC-NET held on 24th December, 2011 and the one to be held on 24th June, 2012 will be made available on the UGC websites www.ugc.ac.in, www.ugcnetonline.in as and when it is declared. The candidates will not be individually intimated about their result. The candidates who qualify for the award of Junior Research Fellowship are eligible to pursue research in the subject of their post-graduation or in a related subject and are also eligible for lectureship The universities, institutions, IITs and other national organizations may select the JRF awardees for whole time research work in accordance with the procedure prescribed by them. The award of JRF will depend on the performance of the candidate in all three papers of NET. However, the candidates qualifying exclusively for lectureship will not be considered for award of JRF. Candidates appearing in NET should clearly specify in the prescribed application form whether they are applying for both JRF and Eligibility for Lectureship; or only for eligibility for Lectureship. Candidates who qualify the test for Eligibility for Lectureship will be governed by the rules and regulations for recruitment of Lecturers of the concerned Universities/Colleges/State Governments, as the case may be SC/ST/VH/PH)/OBC (non-creamy layer), as per the central list of other backward classes available on National Commission for Backward Classes (NCBC), Govt of India website www.ncbc.nic.in, candidates will be given such special concessions as may be decided by the Commission.
2) JUNIOR RESEARCH FELLOWSHIP : Junior Research Fellowship: Candidates qualifying for the award of Junior Research Fellowship will be eligible to receive fellowship of UGC under various schemes, subject to their finding placement in universities/IITs/institutions. The validity period of the offer is two years from the date of issue of JRF Award Letter. However, in case the candidates who have already joined M.Phil/Ph.D, the date of commencement of fellowship shall be from the date of declaration of NET result or date of their joining, whichever is later.

QUALIFICATION & EXPERIENCE
Junior Assistant (Fire Service)-NE-4: Qualification: i) 10th Pass + 3 years’ approved regular Diploma in Mechanical/ Automobile/ Fire with minimum 50% marks (OR) ii) 12th Pass (Regular Study) with 50% marks
Driving License: a) Valid Heavy Vehicle Driving License (OR) b) Valid Medium Vehicle License issued at least one year before the date of advertisement (15/04/2012) (OR) c) Valid LMV License issued at least two years before the date of advertisement.(15/04/2012) In case of (b) & (c), on qualifying the written test the candidate shall be informed in writing to produce a valid Heavy Vehicle Driving License at the time of Driving Test. In case, the candidate fails to do so then he shall not be allowed to take Driving Test and be straightway disqualified for the further selection procedure.
Desirable:
Due weightage shall be given to a candidate possessing any one or more (subject to maximum limit of the following) a) Computer Science as subject at 12th class level; b) NCC ‘B’ Certificate c) Relevant experience in an aviation/regular/industrial fire service. d) Basic Fire Fighting Training Course from AAI Fire Training Establishment (e) Sub Fire Officer Course from National Fire Service College, Nagpur Age: Up to 30 years.
PHYSICAL FITNESS Eye Sight:
Distance Vision – 6/6 At Both Eyes Without Glasses.
Near Vision – N5 In Both Eyes Without Glasses.
Colour Vision – Should be Normal as determined by Ischihara’s charts. Height: Not less than 167 cm. Chest: 81 cm normal. Minimum expansion 5 cms Weight: Not less than 55 Kg. Hearing: Normal Speech: Normal
Must not have undergone major operation by virtue of which his physical fitness to work in Fire Service has been impaired. Should be capable of undergoing physical strain for prolonged periods.
Selection Process:
The candidates will have to appear for written test, physical measurement, driving test, endurance test, and interview. The candidates will be allowed to appear in driving test / physical endurance test subject to passing the written test. Appointment to the post of Junior Assistant (FS) is subject to fulfilling eligibility conditions and successful passing of Basic Training Course for a period of four months. During training, incumbent is entitled for stipend as per the rules.
Disqualification:
Physical deformity, chronic diseases, colour blindness, night blindness, squint eye, flat foot, bow legs, knocking knee and refractive error will be considered as disqualification.
